In 2013, the first FFT teams in Denmark started in Copenhagen, Herning and the Family and Evidence Center. As part of the initiative “Early Intervention – Lifelong Effect”, the National Board of Health and Welfare, in collaboration with the Method Center, was responsible for the national implementation of FFT and the establishment of 6 new FFT teams in 2015-2017. There are currently 5 self-driving FFT teams in Denmark. The LLC organization, www.fftllc.com, was founded in 1998 by the American Functional Family Therapy developer Dr. James Alexander, with the purpose of conducting systematic control of, and scientific testing of, the FFT model. FFT LLC is headquartered in the USA, and from here it contributes to global quality assurance of FFT through training seminars and consultations for over 1,600 FFT therapists, distributed across 330 organizations.
